RALLY - LET US VOTE campaign
This speech was delivered by Charles Parks, CSA at the LET US VOTE CAMPAIGN rally "KICK OFF" in Greenville S.C Sat. Aug. 29, 2009
Regretfully, I feel this speech is much better in writing than it was delivered at the rally. However, putting on a rally takes a tremendous amount of work - it hardly leaves enough time for the most important issue of delivering ones' speech.
Bill and Dixie were out placing signs along the rally route till 3 AM the night before the rally, and I was trying to figure out how to operate our new camera and video system - People just do not understand all the work that is involved in putting an event such as this on, or the expenses involved that comes out of our pockets to make it happen.
For example, we forgot on of the most important things. Passing the hat !!! As of this time, we still owe a radio station in Greenville $300 that is unpaid.
This was a mistake cause we banked on passing the hat.
If anyone would like to contribute to help pay that expense, that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, it's doubtful any radio station is going to lend credit to "a bunch of Rebels" again in the future !!! and I'd imagine they'd give us hell on the radio allll the time.
And uh, do let me point out that it wasn't I that forgot the bucket business.
At any rate, here is the speech and a message for the NAACP and State Legislators.

I GOT A MESSAGE FOR THE NAACP, ……AND OUR STATE LEGISLATORS
THAT WANT TO TAKE THE CF OFF THE CS SOLDIERS MONUMENT -
1. Our flag is not a racist symbol – and were tired of hearing that krap !
2. The NAACP will not dictate where our flag flies. We the people of this State will dictate where our flag flies. And the flag is not going to a museum, it’s not going anywhere but up, back up on the dome !!!
Can I hear a Rebel Yell for that ???
3. This campaign is not against the good black folks of the State, it is with the NAACP teaching hate at the State House, and in public school systems throughout South Carolina.
The people of this State will dictate where the flag flies, and were gonna dictate to the State – The State will not dishonor the Confederate Veteran, OR ANY OTHER VETERAN OF THE STATE.

This Bill pending in the State House right now !!! is to take the flag off the Confederate Soldiers Monument, and place it in a museum. Plus, there is talk of digging the monument up and placing it behind the State House !!!

What is the Let Us Vote Campaign ?
1. We want a vote BY THE PEOPLE of this state –
Whether the flag at the CS Soldiers monument, goes to a museum... or back on the dome...or is to be incorporated in the State flag !!!
That’s right, if 80 % of the people in this State voted to have the flag on the dome in the referendum - THEN IT OUGHT TO FLY ON THE DOME !!!
2. This is important – We want a vote BY THE PEOPLE of this State –
for Confederate educational history classes taught in public school systems throughout the State – to dismantle the NAACP HATE CAMPAIGN against OUR flag OUR heritage.
3. NOW THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT -
WE ALSO WANT A STATE WIDE VOTE BY THE PEOPLE ASKING 1 QUESTION:
IS THE NAACP A RACIST ORGANIZATION ?
We want it publicly acknowledged the NAACP is a racist organization.
And if the NAACP is a racist organization – their credibility is GONE.
WHAT IS THE LET US VOTE CAMPAIGN ALL ABOUT ?

THIS BILL IS TO TAKE THE FLAG OFF THE MONUMENT AND PUT IT IN A MUSEUM WITHOUT ANYBODY EVEN KNOWING ABOUT IT !!!
And...there is talk of having the Confederate Soldiers Monument dug up and moved around back of the State House !!!
Were declaring the Heritage Compromise of July 2000 when they took the flag off the dome and placed it at the CS Soldiers Monument – BUSTED !!!
And we want a vote on whether the flag goes back on the dome, or if it goes to a museum.
That’s the issue:
Whether the flag goes to a museum, or on the dome AND WE THE PEOPLE OF THIS STATE WANT TO VOTE ON IT !!!
WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT -
It’s about voting. We took a lot of them out last flag fight and they know it.
We can, and will, do it again. And this time we are not stopping till we get a vote on the issue.
It’s about writing articles …to the paper about the people of this State being ALLOWED TO VOTE ON THE FLAG /
HERITAGE CLASSES / 3 GOOD ISSUES
AND WHETHER THE NAAPC IS A RACIST ORGANIZATION.
ITS ABOUT BOYCOTTING THE STATE PAPER - AND ANY PAPER THAT ATTACKS THE FLAG. > Were not going to put them out of business, but they are damn near bankrupt now, and every little bit helps.
Why give them your $$ to support their rag of a paper ?
ITS ABOUT YOU – GETTING OUT HERE TO THE RALLY’S
THAT SEND A MESSAGE TO THE STATE HOUSE THAT WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL NOT FORGET THE CONFEDERATE VETERAN.
It’s about getting a bumper sticker on your car
It’s about helping us get HIGHWAY SIGNES up and down highways in your area that say LET US VOTE.
It’s about GOING AFTER any legislator that is not willing to allow the people to vote/talks about our flag. And any legislator that does not recognize he is duty bound to honor any Veteran the State called upon to defend the State. Black or white legislator, it doesn't matter. All are duty bound.
It’s going to be about FLAGGING – When you hear a legislator we don’t like is going to be somewhere – get some friends together and go flaggg him.
*********Now one important thing here – We’re not into any form of violence or getting arrested. Remember – were working within the democratic process to vote these legislators out of office, AND GET THE VOTE TO THE POEPLE ON THIS ISSUE(S). Besides that I have assured Governor Sandford that we will immediately report any illegal activity, and that is where that is.
It’s all about YOU doing anything and everything YOU can – It’s all the little things that makes it happen.

Mr. SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM !
Senator Lindsey Graham’s office just happens to be right over there across the street.
Senator Lindsey Graham is one of those legislators that doesn’t care about his duty – THE STATES DUTY - to honor the Confederate Veteran.
IF YOU ARE A LEGISLATOR OF THIS STATE, WHITE OR BLACK, YOU ARE DUTY BOUND TO HONOR A VETERAN OF THE STATE THAT OUR STATE CALLED UPON TO DEFEND THE STATE - DUTY BOUND.
That means any legislator is game for a flagging.
We will not tolerate ANY legislator that does not honor the Confederate veteran of this State.
This past January in the Republican Primary he said -
“I’M GLAD THAT DAMN FLAG IS GONE”
ARE WE GONNA PUT UP WITH THAT ???
4 or 5 good Rebel yells.
A SENATOR DISRESPECTING OUR FLAG ?
A SENATOR DISRESPECTING THE CONFEDERATE SOLDIER ?
NEXT THING YOU KNOW HE WILL BE ONE OF THOSE AGAINST THE BIBLE.
DOWN SOUTH HERE WE GOT A SAYING – FORGET HELL
We aught to send some people over there right now and stake his office out for the afternoon. We need people writing articles about him in the paper.
We need to flag him wherever he goes.
We need people posted out in front of his office a couple times a week.
We need to ride him to the next election – and do everything we can to get him voted out of office.
Most importantly, keep an ear out for some one that will run against him that will work with us. We will try to arrange some campaign support or at least work for the campaign.
We need to get all his old smut and baggage and make sure it is distributed where ever he is.

I’ll start off with a quote by Charles Dickens in 1862.
“The Northern onslaught upon slavery was no more than a piece of specious humbug, humbug designed to conceal its desire for economic control of the Southern states”.
We are here today to represent all the honorable, courageous men that died for what this flag represents. TRUTH !!! Not the lying and bashing reason that so many people today are taught to believe.
Just as Confederate General Patrick Cleburne in 1864 says…
“Surrender means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy. That our youth will be taught by northern teachers; learn from northern approved school books. Their version of the war “.
He was and is right folks !
We have the right o remember those 400,000 men who died for freedom, and for what our forefathers represented when they stepped out on this great land. Independence, none the less.
Jefferson Davis says -
“Our situation illustrates the American idea that governments rest on the consent of the governed, and that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish them whenever they become destructive for which they were established”.
He also says -
“All we ask is to be left alone; that those who never held power over us shall not now attempt our subjugation by arms”.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this flag represents independence. To be able to live life without fear, and to treated fairly. All the South wanted was the rights that they knew they had – that the North had ripped away and stolen from them.
Now we have all this hate and flag burning over lies that Lincoln had to come up with that the war was fought over slavery so he would be re-elected for what he was doing to the South which was cruel and repulsive.
General Lee explains:
“All the South has ever desired was that the union as established by our forefathers should be preserved; and that the government as originally organized should be administered in purity and truth”.
We are here for this flag that represents honor, heritage, hope. So many people try to bring down this wonderful flag without knowing or even trying to understand its true meaning.
It saddens me that all these courageous, honorable, good men are not remembered by this flag, but instead bashed and accused of fighting for slavery.
Nor should they be remembered for what other ignorant people have used this flag for. People like the KKK were not even around during this time period. So could this flag have risen out of hate?
In 1865 General Lee said himself:
“So far from engaging in a war to perpetuate slavery ? I am rejoiced that slavery is abolished. I believe it will be greatly for the interest of the South. So fully am I satisfied of this that I would have cheerfully lost all that I have lost by the war, and have suffered, to have this object attained.”
I’ll end this with a quote from Jefferson Davis.
“Truth crushed to earth is truth. Still, and like a seed will rise again”.
