BLACK CONFEDERATES

THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO BLACK CONFEDERATE HERITAGE ACTIVISTS, SUPPORTERS, HISTORIANS, JOURNALISTS, AND INTELLECTUALS that have researched and studied the history of the Confederacy. As a result, many have come to a historically accurate conclusion, dismissing the politically correct racist rhetoric of the NAACP, that the Black Confederate Soldier did not exist.
Far too long, there are both white, black, and others that have dismissed the contribution of the other race in the Confederacy, while the service of the American Indian, Jews, and others that composed the population of the South at the time of war went without notice - but any true to the heritage organization honors, and always have honored, all races that supported the Confederacy.
The Black men and women below have researched and know the true history of the Confederacy, and some are descendents of Confederate soldeirs. Several have fought along side us in the fight for the flag and heritage more than just a couple years, in one way or another, as a true history of the South is revealed.
Just as Black Confederate soldiers were welcome among Confederate ranks in Confederate reunions after the war, they remain very welcome in Confederate circles today.
The question begs what became of the brotherhood between Black and White that came out of war ?
The answer to that question is found in the 13 year "Reconstruction Period" (a period of Southern history often over looked) following the war, where Black and White were pitted against one another in the most agressive manner for political and financial gain - It was true then, and remains true to this very day.
"The fact that our ancestors came together in a time of war and fought together has created a bond, for many, that exists to this day - an eternal bond.
This is true for all races, Native American Indian, Jew, Black, and others that composed the population of the South at this time in history.
No Confederate soldier that served under the Southern Cross is ever to be forgotten".

A poor Black chilld and adopted son of CSA President Jefferson Davis, Jim Limber was taken by Yankee troops never to be heard from again.
Henry Winfield was Jefferson Davis Black body guard.
If the South was fighting to exterminate the Black peoples as many racial extremists claim when they claim the heritage is reminiscent of Natzism, it is unlikely Blacks would have resided at the Confederate White House with the Confederate President and his family.
Another false, ignorant claim against the heritage by black racists, and the uninformed.

There are those that contend and argue Blacks serving the Confederacy did not take on the position of an actual soldier, but were used in capacities other than soldier for the army.

H.K. EDGERTON became a Confederate heritage supporter during the South Carolina flag fight at the State House in the mid 1990's.
As President of the Ashville NAACP, he became disenchanted with the NAACP attacks on the Confederate flag, Confederate monuments, and the Confederate heritage, and began fighting the NAACP racism directed toward the Confederate heritage.
Proud of his family Confederate ancestry, H.K views the NAACP as an organization that would teach hate rather than togetherness among the races, and has taken on a personal campaign to defend the heriage throughout the South, from South Carolina to Texas, from attacks by the NAACP, and exposing NAACP racism.
He has gone to the aid of black and white children alike in shcool sytems throughout the South that often suspend school children for someting like bringing a Confederate flag to school or wearing a T shirt with a Confederate flag on it, providing support to them, while at the same time correcting many of the misconceptions and myths of the heriage that are often exploited by the NAACP.
Last year, H.K. protested the NAACP, and brought awareness to the Confederate heritage by walking the Confederate flag from Atlanta Georgia to Texas !!!
One such black Confederate heritage supporter now an activist (athough he does not consider himself an activist) I am proud to say has been my friend for many years now, is H.K. Edgerton of Ashville, N.C.

Pictured below is EDDIE B. PAGE III in his Confederate Joe E. Brown  High School Band uniform he wore to a South Carolina State House Confederate heritage rally in the mid 1990's, shortly before his passing. A member of the U.S. Army Band in the Georgia National Guard, Eddie also enjoyed playing the flute.

EDDIE B. PAGE III USA / CSA was well educated in the area of Southern history, particularly the Confederate heritage. I believe him to be the first individual to name the NAACP - "The Klan with a tan".
Eddie was a member of the Georgia National Guard as a musician, and attended Joe E. Brown High School in Atlanta where he wore the Confederate band uniform, and very proud of it.
Eddie once attended a Confederate heritage rally at the South Carolina State House as a guest speaker in his high school Confederate band uniform.
He was well received by all at the rally, and swarmed by the media taking notes and photographs afterwards - but was not acknoweldged as even having been there by the media in the papers the following day. Why ? Because the media and NAACP want to keep the Confederate flag issue a black and white issue.
After having Eddie at the South Carolina State House rally, he became a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Atlanta, and thouroughly enjoyed the annual Robert E. Lee Stonewall Jackson dinner.
Having been a victim wounded in a robbery, Eddie convinced the doctor to allow him to leave the hospital early for the Robert E. Lee Stonewall Jackson dinner he always enjoyed so much, where-upon a blood clot from his wound moved and he died that evening.
Eddie B. Page III was a great friend, and it is an honor to say we knew each other. He is missed by many.

Let me be clear that my actions in organizing a Pro-Southern Heritage political action committee are in no way shape or form associated with The Sons of Confederate Veterans, or any of its members or any of its associated organizations. Nor am I under the directions of The Sons of Confederate Veterans or any of its members.

This is strictly the efforts of me, Al Mccray, an African American, a fed up and proud person of Southern Heritage. I am fed up because as brave as our grandparents were in defending " Dixie Land" from the ravaging, raping, and murdering Northern aggressors, we sit back and do nothing to defend ourselves today. We just suck it all up and talk among ourselves.

We, of Southern Heritage, sit back and do absolutely nothing when the "Honor of the South" is constantly attacked, insulted, marginalized, and we are literally portrayed as kooks, lunatics and being called a fringe group and extremists.

We are so afraid that if we speak out publicly that we could be called a "racist".
And I understand that is a powerful tool in the arsenal of "Liberals", uneducated and misguided historians, Civil Rights groups, and the public". But through organizing and educating the public, we can changes that racist term to "Pro-Southern Heritage".

Well the first thing would be to get a consensus of what things we, folks of Southern Heritage, value and hold dearly.

NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST, CSA
Wounded 4 times in battle, 29 horses shot out from under him, 30 documented Yankee kills 7 of which was with his own sword, and the only Confederate General wanted so badly by the Yankees that they put a bounty on him.
Many of Forrests men were Black Confederate soldiers identified in the Tennessee Colored Mans Confederate Pension Records, the only state to separate black and white Confederates by name. (In all others states, it is difficult to determine who is black or white as the names were listed together).
The monument of this Confederate hero, like others throughout the South, have been under constant attack by the NAACP for years in their attempt to have it removed.
